We are very excited to announce the key dates for our 2025 PATH production – Newsies Jnr.
Aged 8 to 18 and wishing to audition? Simply reply to this email with a paragraph about why you would love to take part, your performance goals, your training experience (especially your voice and dance training), and a pic taken while performing or practicing.
Apply by Sat 8th March
Auditionees will be sent 2 tasks to learn:
- a piece of choreography (you will be sent instructions and a link to a short tutorial video)
- an excerpt of a song (you will be sent words and a recording to practice with)
- and bring a 60 sec cut of a favourite song in any genre
Sunday 16th March at The Oak, Dickson
On the panel with our production team, will be casting agent, Lauren Wiley, providing an outside eye and industry perspective on the show’s casting. We will hold a workshop with Lauren as presenter while she is here for the audition. More info about the production will be provided to those who submit an expression of interest.
Rehearsals – start in July (dates will be communicated to selected auditionees)
Newsies Jnr will take place at The Street, Canberra, from Tues 14 to Sun 19 October 2025 – running for 8 shows. There will be 2 casts alternating, and each cast will do 4 shows. We hope to have tickets on sale soon.
